What to Bring to SummitRidge Hospital

Recommended Items to Bring

  • Three casual outfits
  • Tennis shoes with no shoestrings or slip-on shoes
  • Three pairs of socks, preferably non-slip
  • Three pairs of underwear
  • Two short-sleeved shirts (no drug or gang motifs)
  • Two long-sleeved shirts (no drug or gang motifs)
  • Robes with all strings and belts removed
  • Nightwear (nothing see-thru or revealing)
  • Jacket or sweatshirt (no strings or hoods)
  • Shampoo, Conditioner
  • Toothbrush, Toothpaste
  • Combs, Brush
  • Shaving Cream


The following items are not allowed with patients in the hospital:

  • Adolescents may not have jewelry
  • No outside food or drinks
  • Glass items including mirrors (including compacts and other make-up mirrors), flower vases, perfume/aftershave bottles, or picture frames
  • Curling irons, hot curlers or hair dryers
  • Nail polish and remover
  • Safety pins, tweezers, nail files and clippers
  • Plastic bags of any kind
  • Radios, CD players, MP3 players (iPod), headphones, hand-held games, etc
  • Video or cassette tapes, DVD’s and CD’s
  • Cameras or any other recording devices
  • Cell phones, pagers, laptops and other electronics
  • Knives or any other weapon of any kind
  • Wire clothes hangers
  • Lighters, matches, butane lighters
  • Spray or aerosol cans
  • Dental floss
  • Pens, pencils or markers (all are provided by the hospital)
  • Cologne, bar soap, perfume or after-shave
  • Mouthwash containing alcohol
  • Belts, scarves, shoe laces, ties or any clothing with a drawstring
  • Glue, white-out or crazy glue
  • Hats and hoods of any kind
  • Infection control concerns limit any outside pillows or blankets, as well as stuffed animals or toys of any kind.


Please be aware that patients are admitted for different reasons. Some patients may require additional restrictions. Patients should not lend, borrow, or give away any personal possessions at any time during their admission. Patients have access to utilize washer/dryer on their unit.
